RJD One of the first to make the grade
RJD achieves prestigious Welding Certification
RJD Engineering have become the first company to be certified by TWI (The Welding Institute), to BS EN 1090 Part 1 under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR),
The 1st July 2014 is the day when all steelwork fabricators in the UK will have to comply with CE marking legislation. From that date It will become a legal requirement for all fabricated structural steelwork to be CE marked. Without this accreditation, it will be illegal to sell fabricated steel products within Europe.
RJD has always strived to be at the forefront of technology and advanced fabrication techniques and are pleased to announce that we have achieved this accreditation with time to spare.
The addition of the BS 1090 was a natural progression for the company and should integrate seamlessly with our existing work of Subsea, Oil Exploration / Drilling, Energy, Defence, Structures, Gantries & Bridges.
The company has a record of achievement when it comes to high manufacturing standards with ISO 3834 Part 2 Award (Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials), which is one of the highest quality standards for the fabrication industry already under its belt.
Working closely with TWI (The Welding Institute), EWF (European Welding Federation) and the IIW (International Institute of Welding), RJD has undergone a rigorous audit process, that ensures the internal processes and document controls are followed, with full traceability on all items designed and manufactured. This resulted in the award of CE Marking certification to Execution Class 3.
“In recent years RJD has looked at ways to utilise and build on the skills of its highly competent workforce. CE Marking was a logical move for us and should widen the broad spectrum of our client base, together with an increased confidence for existing clients.”
